What I’m thinking about this week (keep reading):
The start of summer as well as Father’s Day this past weekend has me thinking about the grill. So grab your meat thermometer, grill brush, and an ice cold bud light and meet me outside for some super simple grilling recipes that even the most novice of grill daddies (this term is gender neutral) can manage.
Today, I’m 🔥 fired up 🔥 to share some super simple grill recipes to keep you well fed and your house cool all summer long.

And I promise that will be my first and last grill pun of this newsletter.
First, a disclaimer: I am by NO MEANS a grill expert. Truthfully, I really don’t know what I’m doing. I am simply a girl who enjoys using the grill during these hot summer months because sometimes it’s nice to not turn on any hot kitchen appliance when the outside temp gets consistently above 90 degrees, as of which we are quickly encroaching upon here in Arkansas.
In addition, I love that charred flavor the grill creates and the primal thrill of cooking over an open flame, not knowing if you will or won’t set your arm hairs on fire. It makes me feel powerful? and is just a good time.
And finally, the culinary delights of summer simply lend themselves well to being cooked over the grill grates at a high temperature. Whether you have an abundance of zucchini from your garden, a few perfectly ripe peaches, or an 8 pack of hotdogs your friend brought over for the party, the grill is sure to get the job done in the tastiest of ways.
Even if you’ve never grilled a dang thing in your life, the following recipes are simple enough for you to likely not mess up too badly. If anything, choosing one of the below recipes to try out will be a great experiment and will increase your confidence to maybe shoot for the moon and try your hand at BBQ’d ribs next time. Please invite me over when you do so.
If I can do it, you can too. Let’s get grillin’ yall!
